Test Arrangement

TESTING OF FANS AT WORKS

  • Mechanical Run Test at Rated / Reduced Speed
  • Performance Test at Rated / Reduced Speed
  • Tests are carried out as per IS 4894-1987 / AMCA 210 / BS 848 for Centrifugal Fans; and IS 3588-1987 for Axial Flow Fans.
  • A variable resistance is created at inlet / outlet of the subject Fan and various characteristic points are obtained and converted to the site condition (Density). These points are plotted to obtain the actual duty condition available at site for the given System Resistance.

SITE PERFORMANC TEST:

  • To determine the Flow, the Input Power and the Pressure rise across the Fan at actual operating condition.
  • Before such test are carried out, the Fan and Accessories are checked for their proper functioning.
  • Suitable straight length at inlet / outlet of Fan is required where the airflow conditions are substantially axial, symmetrical and free from swirl.
  • The actual duty conditions are then plotted against the Estimated Performance Curves to determine the variations.
